OPI Push and Shove

So I got OPI's Push and Shove a while back in my half price haul of the Gwen Stefani Collection at Sally's, it was $4.50 so I had to get it! I put off using it after all the horror stories I've seen from other bloggers, but I had a few tricks up my sleeve, and I'll let you guys in on how I got it to work best for me, first off let me say that in my opinion, when new products like this come out, the best thing to do is FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! They made this product to work a certain way, and you are going to get the best results that way, so it didn't surprise me to see people with gloopy clumps on their nails because they didn't use the "Lay Down That Base" that came with it. I also saw people complain about it chipping quickly, it says plain as day on the box, where you can read it before you purchase, that this is a "special occasion" polish, it is only made for one night of wear, and I think it is stunning enough, to just wear one night on a special occasion, but I got a couple of days out of it, and only had a tiny chip after doing a load of dishes and 2 loads of laundry, which quite honestly chips any nail polish I'm wearing, here's what I did. First, I buffed the ridges out of my nails, then I applied my OPI Nail Envy, next the Lay Down That Base, I then applied 2 coats of Push and Shove, I used 1 coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, and sealed the edges of my nails, which dulls the chrome a bit, so I just put one more coat of Push and Shove on top of that, it worked really well, I am talking the tiniest, barely there chip, I dabbed a tiny bit of polish on it and it wasn't even noticeable, the main problem I had, and the reason I took it off was because it is so light in color, that my hair turned it pink really fast, which is the problem I have with white polishes, and why I don't wear them very often, you can see a bit of pink on my pointer finger....

On my accent I used every holo silver glitter I own over Zoya Trixie to get that "disco ball" effect, Zoya Electra, OPI I Snow You Love Me, OPI In True Stefani Fashion, China Glaze Nova, and Salon Perfect Silver Sparkler, 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

This mani was a lot of fun, and well worth the time I put into it, I couldn't stop looking at my nails, and they brought a smile to my face when I did.

Colour Pop Cosmetics Review

I have a review of some eyeshadows from a new brand called ColourPop Cosmetics, they have some awesome colors, at a great price, $5 and they offer free shipping over $30, great deal right? I had to try them out, and I was not disappointed! Their Super Shock Eye Shadow has  a long - wearing, creme powder formula, that is not advertised as, but is definitely water resistant, they are highly pigmented, and the glitter in the glitter shadows goes where it is supposed to, not all over your face, I did not get any bald spots when applying, and it really stayed put! I used my finger to apply Dare on my lid, and an eyeliner brush with Rex to line my eye, and underneath, and used a fluffy eye shadow brush for the rest, and it worked great! They are different than any other shadows I have, they are so soft that they almost feel like a cream shadow, but not really, if they are creams they dry so fast that you don't notice it, and it was really easy to clean them off my brushes, they wiped right off. I highly recommend these shadows, and you guys will be seeing more of them on my blog for sure!

I used Tassel on my browbone, Dare on my lid, Envy in my crease, Rex to line my eye, above and below, and Ratchet on my eyebrows.

A close up of NYX Blue Velvet, because I love it!!!

My Pretty Zombie Review

I have a "new to me" indie makup brand on the blog today, My Pretty Zombie, and I am absolutely in LOVE! I love trying out indie makeup, but I have to say I am disappointed a lot, from website pictures that are not accurate, improper packaging for shipping, which resulted in some spilled eyeshadows, and melted lipsticks, quality that is just not up to par, or makers that are just plain rude, and I had NONE of these problems with MPZ! I ordered the MPZ Best Sellers Collection, but switched everything out in it to colors I know I'll wear all the time, and that weren't like other stuff I have (I am going to order it the way it's supposed to be the next time I order) you basically get a free eyeshadow if you order this set, I got an LSD Blush, a muted grey plum with a red to gold shift, and three eyeshadows, Tenderloin, red plum with blue shimmer, Tara Yvonne, midnight blue with dark red glitter, and Osedax, a taupe color with a green/gold shift, and purple glitter, I think, the description on this set was an ingredient list, instead of what they look like, all the other shadows tell you what they look like, and MPZ is in the process of getting eye swatches for all of them. I also got Ojo de Gato which is a blackened copper color that was a limited edition for April, ALL of the proceeds went to The Blind Cat Rescue, and Law Firm Lamb Cake, White with Pink Shimmer and Pastel Multicored Glitter.  As I said in the middle of all of this I had to send an email from the website to switch out all the colors in the set, MPZ got back to me so fast, was so very nice, and switched everything out no problem, all of the products are highly pigmented, long wearing, easy to apply, and even prettier in person than they are on the website, and the packaging is precious, and all of the products are individually sealed, which is a plus for me, I understand that it is a waste of plastic, but I am totally a germaphobe, and as mentioned above, I have had pots of eyeshadow spill all over the place in shipping because it wasn't sealed right, so I like them being sealed. She also sent me free samples of Mary Jane, Bettie, and 13 Gypsies eye shadows. Expect to see lots of MPZ products in the future! Here are a couple of quick looks with a few of the things I got this time...

How cute is this packaging!

My Pretty Zombie Law Firm Lamb Cake on my browbone, and in the crease over Urban Decay Black Dog, which is just a plain matte black eyeshadow, so I could show the shimmer, and My Pretty Zombie Tenderloin on my lid, and under eye. Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion, and Black Velvet Liner set with Black Dog in waterline. Mary Kay Lash Love in I <3 Black over Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash

Full Face With MPZ LSD Blush, Wet 'n' Wild Sugarplum Fairy Lip

Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl on browbone, My Pretty Zombie Ojo de Gato in the crease, and MPZ 13 Gypsies on lid and under eye. Urban Decay Black Velvet eyeliner Set with Urban Decay Black Dog in waterline, NYX Jet Set Eyelashes, Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash.

I used My Pretty Zombie Ojo de Gato over NYX Chambord

Some Fun With Urban Outfitters Polish and my New Nail Shape!

Mini Me has a field trip in a couple of weeks, and I'm a chaperone, so I wanted to change my nail shape up, I would hate to scratch one of her classmates accidentally, and I was ready for something different, and I have seen these "coffin" shaped nails popping up more often, especially from nail salons, and I saw Pinkflyingcow do them on her natural nails, so I thought I'd try 'em out...

I used Mint Pass the Scone and Buttered Rum for the cones, and a base of Salon Perfect Bellini, and Robin's Egg, and China Glaze Sweet Hook, Urban Outfitter's Oyster, Blue Raspberry, Violet Sugar, and Creamsicle, with Glitter Bunny  Rainbow Sprinkles over Pass the Scone on my pinky, all topped off with 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

I used 1 coat of Urban Outfitters Luster over 2 coats of OPI Black Onyx, and 3 coats of A England Princess Sabra and Salon Perfect Black Ink Striper on my accent nail, and 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

NYX Macaron Lippie's

I am so super excited about the new Macaron Lippie's from NYX, I have wanted to get some of these colors from other companies but didn't want to spend the money on them, especially when these types of colors can be hard to wear, sometimes too thin or too chalky, please keep in mind that I don't photoshop my pics, I want for people who read my blog to see a real picture of what products really look like on me, and hear my honest opinion about the products.  So let's get to it....

Coconut, White, the white is a little chalky, but mixes well with the other colors

Citron, Yellow, This one was a little on the thin side, but so is my OCC Traffic, actually it's thinner than this, I'm hoping I can layer them for better coverage.

Citron, and Coconut together

Orange Blossom, Orange

Orange Blossom, and Coconut together

Orange Blossom, and Rose together, a great combo!

Rose, a Lavender Pink

Rose and Violet, another great combo.

Violet, Royal Purple, one of my favorites

Lavender, Lavender, this one is also on the thinner side, but looks better in person than this pic.

Earl Grey, Powder Blue, this one also looks better in person.

Earl Grey and Coconut

Blue Velvet, Electric Blue, another one of my favs, at this point in the swatch, my lips started to get red from wiping, so it's showing through a bit in the pics, but didn't show through at all in person.

Blue Velvet, and Coconut, a cool combo

Pistachio, Mint Green, this is the one I was the most excited about, it's a little thinner than I wanted it to be, but I still like it a lot, and it looks better in person.

Pistachio, and Coconut

Key Lime, Lime Green, I was the most disappointed in this one, I was really excited about it, and it is super thin. *:(

Key Lime and Coconut, Key Lime was the thinnest, and Coconut was the chalkiest, so they didn't mix very well. *:/

Black Sesame, Light Grey, this was the other one that I was super excited about, I really like it a lot, it's another one that looks better in person.

Black Sesame, and Coconut, another great combo

Black Sesame, and Chambord, LOVE this Combo!

Chambord, Black, Okay my lips are a mess at this point, sorry, but anyway, it's black, really black, full coverage black, love it, love it , love it!

Chambord and Coconut, so lightest to darkest mixes great!

Overall, I am super pleased with this collection, it is a lot of fun, and at 6 bucks a piece I think they are a great deal,  I think the thinner ones can be set with eyeshadow, or mixed with something else to make them more useable.
