Mary Kay VoxBox from Influenster

I received a Mary Kay VoxBox complimentary from Influenster to share my thoughts, even though I got these products for free, these still are my honest opinions about them. I haven't used Mary Kay since high school when one of my friends was selling it for extra money, so I was excited to give it another try. So lets get started, I received.....

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in I ♥ Black, retail $15, I really liked this mascara, it really lengthened my lashes, you can use the brush to curl your lashes easily, but there was major fall-out, as long as you wait for it to dry, the fall-out wipes away easily with a Q-Tip.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist, retail $14, I hate cream eyeshadow, so I was pretty sure I wouldn't like this, and I was right, the color was pretty, but I have super sensitive eyes, and this burned.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Shy Blush, retail $12, I really loved this blush, it's a great color, and applied well, and I loved the brush that came to use with it.

Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder, retail $ 16, I don't agree that this can be used on any skin tone, it didn't work for me, it made me too pale and washed out, but I will use it for Vampire or Zombie makeup.

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush, retail $18, this is good eyeliner, it is crazy soft, almost too soft, but applied well, and is buildable, which I like, but the eyeliner brush doesn't work well, it's too big, I used it to apply eyeshadow on my bottom lid, and it worked well for that. I used my own brush to apply the eyeliner.

Mary Kay Bronzing Powder, retail $18, I used this as suggested to highlight my cheekbone, and it worked very well.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango, retail $14, I love this lipgloss! smelled, and felt great, long-lasting, and good color pay-off for a lipgloss, it didn't leave that gloopy line around my lip line that most lipglosses do, but too expensive for a small tube of lipgloss.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/ Concealer Brush, retail $10, I don't really need this brush, because of my dislike of cream eyeshadow, and I don't have any jar concealers at this time.

My eyelashes look really good, but I didn't get all of the mascara cleaned up, I didn't see some until I looked at close-ups of these pics *:/ I used NYX I Have a Headache on my browbone, Madison Street Beauty Copper in my Crease, Sugarpill Asylum in the corner, and under eye, and Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist on my lid Mary Kay Jet Black Gel Liner, and Lash Love Mascara in I ♥ Black.

Lipgloss

you can really see how shiny my face still is ....

HauteLook Lip Beauty Bag

For Spring HauteLook has a 10 piece Lip Beauty Bag for $24 + the $6 shipping, but that still made everything, $3 a piece, and I know everything in the bag retails for more than that. I have to say, that I am very pleased with both of the HauteLook Beauty Bags I've gotten, this one is almost all red lipsticks/glosses, but I love red, so I'm fine with that, and they are a little different from each other. Lets get started.....

This is the bag....

It contains 5 Lipsticks/Stains/Glosses, a Lipliner, a lip brush, a Swoon Reusable Lip Gloss Wand, that is longer than a normal to get all the product out of your lipgloss tube, a lipstick case, which I will use in my small "going out" purse, a cute "lipstick" lipstick bag, a travel make-up remover pad, and a coupon for Laura Geller, and Swoon.

First there's the Laura Geller Italian Marble Lipstick in Sugared Maple with NYX Lipliner Soft Brown. Laura Geller Italian Marble Lipstick retails for $18, it looks better in person, all the pics I took looked a little orange, it was more of a caramel color, very pretty, the marble gives the color depth, it felt nice, but I don't know that I would spend $18 on it.

Next there's the NYX Waterproof Retractable Lipliner in Nectar, with NYX Matte Lipstick in Strawberry Daiquiri. NYX Waterproof Retractable Lipliner retails for $4.50, Nectar matched with the Strawberry Daiquiri perfect, their website describes it as a deep pink, but it is more of a coral color to me, I am obsessed with NYX they make great quality products, for a great price, but this is the first Waterproof Retractable Liner I've gotten, and I love it, it was shimmery, and it goes on SO smoothly, you could almost use it all over your lip, really nice, I will be buying more of these.

Next up is Lorac Lip Lustre Gloss Ruby Lustre with NYX Lipliner in Hot Red, Lorac Lip Lustre Gloss Ruby Lustre retails for $15, I was the most excited about getting this, I love the regular Liquid Lustre, and this has shimmer, but not any more than say Hard Candy lipgloss with shimmer, and is half the price, and it feels about the same, I will be mostly wearing this over other stuff, the brush is neat it is a short lip brush, but I am definitely happy that I got such a good deal on this.

Here it is over Lord and Berry Crayon Lipstick with NYX Hot Red Lipliner....

I did like using on top of this, it gave it a little shimmery pop!

Here's the Lord and Berry Crayon Lipstick Scarlett alone, with NYX Hot Red Lipliner. Lord and Berry Crayon Lipstick Scarlett retails for around $10 or $15, it was hard for me to find it for sale, but I found it on Ebay, this was the first time I had heard of this brand. I liked how smoothly it went on, and the color payoff is great, it was a little sticky though, another one I was happy to get a good deal on.

This is Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Flirty Kiss/ Starlet, with NYX Hot Red Lipliner,  Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Flirty Kiss/ Starlet retails for $27 to $30, and it is a 3 in 1 color, Liner, balm, and Stain all in one, and on their website says it can be used as a cheek stain as well, I have never heard of Mirenesse either, and I was impressed, I don't know about spending $30 on lipstick, but I really love this, it applied smooth, and creamy, and very shiny, smelled good, and had a great stain after I wiped it off.

and now Mirenesse Lip Bomb in Mirror Me Bomb 2 with NYX Hot Red Lipliner, Nyx Red Hot Lipliner. Mirenesse Lip Bomb retails for $15 to $35, the price range was all over the place depending on where I looked, and the color, and I did see at some point this was in an Ipsy bag, it is a Glossy Lacquer Stain, this was my favorite thing in the bag, I would pay $15 bucks for it, for sure, it smelled nice, wasn't too sticky, and applied great, the wand has a little bulb on the end, so the excess wipes off when you pull it out of the tube, so I didn't get that weird line around my lips which the worst thing about lipgloss to me, and I think it has a lip plumper as well.

This is both of the Mirenesse's together, just cause...

As I said at the beginning, I am really happy with this bag, and will purchase HauteLook Beauty Bag's in the future, I think it's a great way to try out products, for a great price!

The Lip Beauty Bag is available until Monday April 28th @ 8 am on HauteLook.

April Ipsy Bag Review

First off I have to say that again I am disappointed that I did not get the Rainbow Honey nail polish!!! I do not understand why Ipsy does not pay attention to the types of looks that you post, yes I have been doing more makeup posts lately, mostly because of the Ipsy bag, and Influenster, but still the majority of my posts, and looks on Ipsy are of nail polish!!!! Okay rant over, I did get some awesome stuff this month, lots of pics!

Here's the stuff I got this month....

 Here's the stuff I used...

I was excited to get the Sexy Hair Root Pump Volumizing Spray Mousse, I have been curling my hair a lot lately, and wanted to get something to pump it up when I'm going out, and this works great did exactly what I wanted it to do, and it smelled good too!

An outside shot so you can see it really well....

I used  the City Color White Gold Shadow/Highlight Mousse all over my eye, then applied Urban Decay Black Dog, which is a plain matte black eyeshadow, no shimmer or glitter, and then put it over that, and in the corners of my eye. A little goes a long way, it worked well in the corner of my eyes, and over other eyeshadow, but not as an eyeshadow by itself, there are bare spots where i used it alone on my browbone, which I applied with my finger, I used a brush everywhere else, and it was sticky enough that it made a bristle stick to my eyelid. *:/ I also used the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Eyeliner,  which I loved of course, I love Urban Decay, this velvet liner seems to have a matte finish, and was easy to use. I have on the Kiss Eyelashes even though I didn't get them from Ipsy this month, they WERE in some of the bags, and I love them! They are my favorite lashes!

Uuuuugh, Ick, this is is the Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Apple Pink, AKA the ugliest color ever! I did not like this at all, so much so that I took lip glosses off of products I like in my Ipsy survey, I have not liked ANY of the Lip Glosses Ipsy has sent me, they have all been pretty similar, and have smelled/tasted weird, I don't need them to taste like Lip Smakers, but I don't want them to be bitter either, this was drying, and just weird, I put my Concrete Minerals Sexy Lips in Gold-Plated over it in the last picture to make it wearable, but it is already in a drawer in my vanity instead of my lipstick bag.

much better....

I also got another tube of Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion, I'm still not really impressed, it works okay, I had already gotten a sample in a HauteLook sample bag so I've used it a few times already, it helps with the blackheads on my nose, and my face feels clean, but doesn't shrink my pores at all, I have other products that work better, and cost less.

HauteLook Beauty Bag Review

I won a giveaway from BiohazardousBeauty for an extra beauty bag she got from HauteLook, and an extra goodie thrown in, a Medusa's Makeup eye dust in Helter Skelter that I have wanted for awhile now, I had a lot of fun trying out all this new stuff, I loved my extra of course, here's what I thought of everything....

I received Clarins Body Firming Cream, Clarins Total Double Serum, Crown Brush Kabuki Brush, NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in Glory, Blow Pro Blow Out Serious Non-Stick Light Hold Hair Spray, China Glaze in Browstone, Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Hues in Mauve Majesty, Betsey Johnson Too Too Pretty Eau de Parfum sample, France Luxe Silver Headband, Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion. Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream, Good Genes Treatment, *Urban Decay Sin Eye Primer Potion, * Medusa's Makeup Eye Dust in Helter Skelter.
*These were extra's that Tori threw into the giveaway bag.
This is the stuff I used for my face... I've listed what I used on my eyes below, if you have any questions about anything else I used just ask. *;)

I used Urban Decay Strange on my browbone, Medusa's Makeup Helter Skelter in crease, and outer corner of undereye, Urban Decay Dust blended above that, on the rest of my undereye, an in inner corner, the Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Hues in Mauve Majesty on my lid, and LIT Cosmetics in Wonder Woman over that, NYX Doll Eye Mascara, and Urban Decay Big Fatty Lash

NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe in Glory
Really quickly, because I know this is a long post, I noticed how yellow my teeth are in this post when I was writing it, (I oil-pull, and that really helps whiten them, but I've been slacking) So I tried brushing them with activated charcoal which I saw on Pinterest, and I was surprised how much just doing it once helped!

I used 1 coat of CrowsToes Too F'N Cold over 2 coats of China Glaze Brickstone, topped with 2 coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Okay onto what I thought, I haven't used the Clarins stuff yet, but to me it's really hard to tell how these types of products are going to work because the sample size is only good for one or two uses, I have a Kabuki brush just like this that I carry in my purse I love it, and am glad to have a new one. I can never find the NYX Glam Lipsticks in any of my stores, I love ALL of my NYX Lippies, and this one is great too! I used up all of the Blow Pro Hairspray in three or four uses, but it is a small can, it smelled really good, like perfume, strong like perfume, you guys know I'm a huge fan of China Glaze, so I was happy to get that, I don't have Brownstone already, but that is because I don't have a lot of browns, it has enough red in it that I think I'll wear it. I didn't care too much for the Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Hues in Mauve Majesty, I don't really like cream eyeshadows, and when I use them it's to make glitter stick, but this didn't work very well for that, it almost dried too fast for the glitter to stick, so it made the glitter patchy, but went on too thick and gloopy to wear alone. The Betsey Johnson Too Too Pretty sample is nice, I normally don't like perfume samples, so this was a pleasant surprise. I use the headband constantly, I have been meaning to pick one up forever, but keep forgetting, so it was great to get one. I got the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion in this bag, and my April Ipsy bag as well,  so I've used it a couple times know, my face feels soft, smooth, and really clean after using it, and it is helping the blackheads on my nose, but I'm not noticing any pore shrinkage, but maybe that will change before I review my Ipsy bag, I'll let you guys know. *;)  I liked the Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream, It had great coverage, went on smoothly no beading, I used it instead of base, and was able to get a few uses out of the sample. The Good Genes treatment was Just enough for two uses, not really enough to tell if it did anything. I love Urban Decay Eye Primer potion, and there is actually a lot in this sample, but Sin is weird because it is a pinkish nude shimmery color, so it's great under The Naked 3 palette, but not good under say white, which I use on my browbone a lot, I'm not complaining, but I think I would have been disappointed if I had bought it, because it doesn't work under some colors, and lastly Medusa's Makeup Eye Dust in Helter Skelter, I have wanted this color for awhile, and was so happy to have it as a little extra thrown in! It's a black eye dust with blue shimmer, gorgeous applied great, and stayed on incredibly well! I had a blast playing around with all of this stuff, and was really happy to get the opportunity to play around with a HauteLook Beauty Bag for free, because honestly, I think I will purchase them in the future, there was more than $20 worth of stuff in it, and there was $20 worth of stuff in it, that I really like using *;)
